In this activity, students explore the relationship between force, time, and impulse. They first study a graph of the force applied to an object over a period of time. They vary the force and time interval and observe the effects. |
Then, they calculate the total impulse on the object using the integral measurement tool. |
Finally, they explore a simulation of a person in a car collision. They vary the time interval over which the person decelerates and determine the total force acting on her body under different conditions. |
